  • The first written record of heartburn dates back to Galen in 200AD. The term was based on the observation that diseases of the esophagus often mimicked diseases of the heart.

Heartburn & pregnancy

  • The incidence of heartburn during pregnancy have been reported to be 17%-45%.3
  • Heartburn is a common complaint during pregnancy. Antacids, including those containing calcium are recommended as first-line treatment of heartburn and acid reflux during pregnancy4. If you are pregnant consult with your health care professional before taking any medication while pregnant.
